However, for now these are only preliminary calculations presented by specialists from the international consulting firm ILF Consulting Engineers, who are preparing a feasibility study (FS) for the future construction. Among other interesting data, experts studied traffic intensity at 13 points on roads that could become an alternative to the new highway. These are the M-06 Kyiv — Chop, M-10 Lviv — Krakivets, M-19 Domanove — Kovel — Chernivtsi — Terebleche routes, as well as the T-18-06 Dermanka — Korets. As it turned out, the load on these sections varies from 21.5 thousand to 55.5 thousand vehicles per day, and on average this figure reaches 35.6 thousand cars.
The Ministry of Infrastructure reported that after completing the analysis of the technical and economic characteristics of the future route, the project will move to the next stage — an assessment of the impact of the new road on the environment and its social significance. Only after the Cabinet of Ministers gives its approval will Ukravtodor be able to announce a tender to find an investor.
The department also emphasized that the toll highway will necessarily have a free alternative route, as provided by law. For the new road Krakivets — Lviv — Brody — Rivne, such alternatives will be the existing routes Kyiv — Chop and Lviv — Krakivets.
It is worth recalling that in Ukraine, six toll roads are expected to appear in the future. Their total length will approach 1,500 km, and toll rates will range from 80 kopecks to 4.6 hryvnias per kilometer.
