Crossovers up to $10,000 with affordable maintenance
To reduce maintenance costs, you should first of all pay attention to naturally aspirated petrol versions and simple transmissions.
"In a budget of up to $10,000, the age of the car is not as important as the specific modification. A simple naturally aspirated engine and common spare parts can significantly reduce further maintenance costs," notes the author of the article, Oleksiy Astapov.
1. Renault Duster I
Renault Duster I of 2010-2017 costs approximately $6,500-10,000. The base 1.6 L petrol engine has a naturally aspirated design. A wide selection of original and non-original spare parts is available for the model, and front-wheel drive versions with a manual gearbox have a simpler transmission.
2. Nissan Qashqai J10
Nissan Qashqai J10 of 2007-2013 can be found for $6,500-9,500. For inexpensive maintenance, cars with the naturally aspirated 1.6 HR16DE petrol engine and a manual gearbox are suitable. The first-generation Nissan Qashqai is widely represented on the Ukrainian secondary market.
3. Hyundai Tucson I
Hyundai Tucson I of 2004-2010 costs about $6,000-9,000. A common modification has a 2.0 L naturally aspirated petrol engine. The large number of Hyundai Tucson of this generation on the Ukrainian market ensures a wide selection of new and used parts.
4. Kia Sportage II
Kia Sportage II of 2004-2010 is offered for approximately $6,000-9,500. The model is technically related to the Hyundai Tucson and is also available with a 2.0 L naturally aspirated petrol engine. Some components of these two crossovers are interchangeable.
5. Suzuki Grand Vitara II
Suzuki Grand Vitara II of 2005-2012 costs about $7,000-10,000. The version with a 2.0 L naturally aspirated petrol engine lacks turbocharging, but the all-wheel drive system makes the design more complex than the front-wheel drive models in this selection.
