The new LEAF is based on the CMF-EV platform, shared with the Nissan Ariya crossover. An aerodynamic drag of 0.25 Cd and a fresh body design work to reduce energy consumption. Buyers will be offered two battery options: a base 52 kWh with a range of about 436 km and an enlarged 75 kWh, which should cover up to 604 km (preliminary data — final figures are still being clarified).
Fast charging of the electric vehicle supports power up to 150 kW: in half an hour you can replenish the range by approximately 417 km. The battery preheating function automatically adjusts its temperature before arriving at the charging station, making the process faster.
The interior is designed for daily use: the trunk holds 437 liters, there is enough space for passengers in the second row, and the driver's seat is thoughtfully designed from an ergonomic standpoint. The options list includes roof rails and a power tailgate. A panoramic roof, several interior trim options, and a choice of wheels are available: from standard 18-inch to 19-inch in the top version.
The equipment includes adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, 3D surround-view cameras with a "transparent hood" effect, a parking assistant, and helpers for driving in dense city traffic. The V2L function is also implemented — you can power external devices from the car, and V2G support for returning energy to the grid is promised in the future.
Externally, the new model is recognizable by its changed lighting, flush door handles, and voluminous rear lights. The body color palette includes seven shades, among which is a signature turquoise.
Deliveries of the new LEAF to Nissan's key markets will begin in the coming months. Information on prices, trim levels, and final technical specifications will be released by the manufacturer later.
