In the exterior of the PV5, one can notice similarities with Volkswagen's electric ID.Buzz — its direct competitor in the European market. However, KIA chose a bolder futuristic style: a lower window line, sloping windshield, and unusual daytime running lights. The door design also differs from the standard — at the rear they are sliding, and at the front they open at a wide angle.

The minivan's interior is also rich in technology. It combines convenience with a minimalist design: the digital instrument cluster is quite compact, while the 12.9-inch screen in the middle has over-the-air update functionality and a wide range of online services. The base configuration provides five seats, but there are plans for a six-passenger version with a different second-row seating arrangement.

One of the KIA PV5's strong points is its generous equipment even in the base version. The car features keyless entry, adaptive cruise control, a full set of DriveWise safety systems (including automatic braking and lane keeping assist), climate control, multimedia with navigation, as well as parking sensors and a rearview camera. All this is available in the starting Essential trim for 37,946 euros.

Initially, KIA will present two front-wheel-drive versions:

  • PV5 Standard — 122 hp, 250 Nm, 51.5 kWh battery. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 12.8 seconds, top speed is 135 km/h, range is 288 km (WLTP).

  • PV5 Long Range — 163 hp, 250 Nm, 71.2 kWh battery. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 10.7 seconds, top speed is the same at 135 km/h, but the range reaches 400 km.

Later, a more powerful all-wheel-drive version is planned, which will most likely be aimed at corporate clients or travel enthusiasts. Additionally, a cargo variant with a lower price will appear in the lineup — it will be useful for businesses, courier services, and municipal needs.

Serial production of the PV5 will be established at Kia's new plant in South Korea, which will focus on next-generation electric vehicles. KIA also announced the PV7 and PV1 models, which will be respectively larger and smaller than the PV5 and will cover the entire range of tasks — from a small delivery vehicle to a spacious minivan or van.
