As is known, Taigun was developed specifically for the Indian market, but in fact it is a version of the global crossover T-Cross (premiered in 2018), produced at VAG plants in China, Brazil, and Spain, adapted for this country. The difference is right-hand drive and slightly modified exterior.

The subcompact Volkswagen Taigun is based on the familiar global MQB A0 platform. Vehicle dimensions: length — 4.2 meters, width — 1.76 meters, wheelbase — 2.65 meters. The interior has five seats, a digital instrument panel, and a multimedia system with a color display of medium diagonal.

Under the hood of the most affordable Volkswagen crossover are gasoline turbo engines with a displacement of 1.0 and 1.5 liters, producing 115 and 150 horsepower, respectively. In the base configuration, both engines work in pair with a six-speed manual gearbox. For an additional cost, the younger unit is available with a six-speed automatic transmission with a torque converter, and the older one with a seven-speed preselective "robot" with two clutches. Drive is only front, no alternatives.

The starting price of the Volkswagen Taigun is 1,050,000 rupees, which is approximately $14,100 (for comparison, this is $1,000 less than the Renault Duster in Ukraine). It is worth noting that for almost the same money, VAG offers in India the crossover Skoda Kushaq — it is assembled at the same plant in Chakan and is technically almost a sibling of the Taigun.

As for Ukraine, here Volkswagen T-Cross is offered at a price from $23.5 thousand.
