The electric car will replace specifically the Volkswagen Passat sedan. The fact is that the new generation of the popular D-class model will be presented exclusively as a station wagon.
The test electric car was camouflaged as a Volkswagen Jetta, although its body is close to production. The car has a streamlined silhouette and elegant body lines. In terms of size, it seems somewhat more compact than the Passat.
The Volkswagen electric car will be built on the modular MEB platform, like all models of the ID family. Versions with one and two motors with power from 170 to 306 hp are expected. The top version will get an 82 kWh battery and will be able to travel over 500 km without recharging.
