The Chinese YouTube channel Car Crash Test published a video of an unusual safety test. The electric crossovers Tesla Model Y and Volkswagen ID.6 Crozz were crashed into each other at a speed of 64 km/h — exactly the indicator used in European Euro NCAP crash tests.

Both electric vehicles received significant damage, but neither caught fire. The deployed airbags in both cars did not protect the dummies from contact with doors and other interior elements, although the structural safety cells of the bodies maintained their integrity.

In the Tesla, the doors were blocked after the collision, and the traction battery was seriously deformed. In the case of the Volkswagen ID.6 Crozz, the battery packs proved noticeably more resistant to damage.
