The new BMW X8 will become a more sporty alternative to the X7 and will occupy a niche between it and the Rolls-Royce Cullinan (recall that the British brand also belongs to the BMW Group). However, unlike the younger BMW X6 and X4, it will not have a sloping coupe-like roof.

Among the model's features are two-level LED optics, seriously flared fenders, and a curved window line. Inside, a large virtual instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen are promised. It is quite possible that versions will be offered not only for 5 but also for 7 seats.

It is expected that initially a version with a 4.4-liter 600-horsepower twin-turbo V8 (from BMW X5 M and X6 M) and a 400-horsepower plug-in hybrid with a three-liter turbocharged inline-six and an electric motor will be offered.

Later, a top-of-the-line BMW X8 M should appear. This will be the most powerful and fastest BMW crossover in history. Its 4.4-liter engine and electric motor will together develop about 750 hp.
