On the European car market, the new Jeep Cherokee will be available with two 2-liter diesel engine options producing 140 and 170 horsepower, as well as a 3.2-liter V6 Pentastar gasoline engine delivering 272 horsepower and 315 Nm of torque. All these powertrains will be paired with the latest nine-speed automatic transmission, except for the base diesel, which is offered with a six-speed manual gearbox.

For the Eastern European market, the model will be offered with a 2.4-liter gasoline engine producing just over 180 horsepower and a nine-speed automatic transmission. Details about the technical specifications and available options for this modification are not yet disclosed.

European buyers will be offered the Cherokee in three trim levels: Longitude, Limited, and Trailhawk. The first two versions are equipped with the Active Drive 1 all-wheel-drive system, which normally sends power to the front wheels and engages the rear axle only when necessary.

For the Limited version, the Active Drive II system is available as an optional extra, featuring a low-range gear and a reinforced coupling for connecting the rear axle. The top-of-the-line Trailhawk version gets the Active Drive Lock transmission, which includes a locking differential on the rear axle.

In the American market, the starting price of the Jeep Cherokee is $22,995, while the price for European buyers has not yet been announced.
