Let us remind you that earlier only the extended seven-seat Jeep Grand Cherokee L was shown. The standard short-wheelbase model had to wait a bit, and it debuted with a surprise.

The fact is that the new Jeep Grand Cherokee 2022 was shown in the 4xe plug-in hybrid version. Details of the power plant are not disclosed, but most likely it was borrowed from the Jeep Wrangler 4xe. This means that the SUV will get a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline four-cylinder engine and two electric motors.
The total output is 380 hp and 637 N∙m, making it the most powerful Jeep Grand Cherokee of the fifth generation at the moment. In addition, a battery with a capacity of 17.3 kWh allows you to travel about 40 km in electric vehicle mode.

Visually, the five-seat Jeep Grand Cherokee 2022 differs from its extended sibling in the design of the rear part with an increased slope of the pillars and a different front bumper. There are no photos of the interior yet, but it is unlikely that there will be big differences inside from the Jeep Grand Cherokee L.
