In addition, the new technology makes it possible to use elements made of galvanized steel, which was previously impossible. The key difference between the new cathodic priming method and the previous anodic one lies in a different approach to applying the composition. Thanks to this, the protective film is able to penetrate deep into the metal surface.

As a result, such a coating turns out to be noticeably more wear-resistant and has excellent protective properties against rust. Interestingly, it is the cathodic method that is used for galvanizing metal surfaces.

For now, only individual stamped parts made of galvanized steel will be installed on Ulyanovsk SUVs, but even such steps will help bring UAZ's corrosion resistance to a level considered acceptable in European countries.

The new body priming line was supplied by the German company Eisenmann, with a capacity of 99 thousand cars per year. This will be enough to cover the plant's own needs, as well as to process bodies for third-party customers of the enterprise.
