On the Ukrainian market, the majority of passenger cars are vehicles whose average age is approximately 16 years. Trucks turned out to be even older — on average, they are 18.5–19 years old. Buses turned out to be the oldest, being over two decades old.

Cars imported from abroad look noticeably fresher. Passenger cars brought in from other countries have an average age of 9.6 years. For trucks, this figure is even lower — only 7.9 years. Buses imported from outside the country are on average 13 to 14 years old.

This difference is caused, in particular, by legislative rules: for buses and trucks older than 5 or 8 years, the excise tax increases significantly. Additionally, the import of older vehicles is restricted by the requirements of the Euro-5 environmental standards.

Motorcycles show the opposite picture. Used bikes brought from abroad are on average older than those sold on the domestic market: 14 years versus 11.5. The reason is that half of the imported motorcycles are new from showrooms. And among used ones, they mainly look for rare or cult models that simply do not exist in Ukraine. The most popular are Honda CB, Kawasaki NINJA, Honda CBR, Yamaha YZF, Suzuki GSX, and other iconic models.

The conclusion is simple: import significantly rejuvenates the country's vehicle fleet in the categories of passenger cars, trucks, and buses. But the motorcycle market has its own specifics — there, a significant part is occupied by new models, and used vehicles from abroad serve fans of rare specimens.
