As reported by the British media, local authorities decided to take this step for several reasons. First, concrete roads produce increased noise: the materials they are made of do not absorb sound as well as asphalt.
Second, maintaining asphalt roads is cheaper than concrete ones. Yes, concrete pavement is more durable, requires much less repair over years of use, and withstands extreme weather conditions better. Nevertheless, even considering the "constant" repair of asphalt, there is a financial benefit, according to road builders of Foggy Albion. Moreover, concrete roads themselves are more expensive, and their construction takes more time.

Third, on asphalt roads snow and ice melt faster; finally, another plus is that asphalt roads are safer because they provide better traction compared to "slippery" concrete highways.
It is planned that concrete roads will be replaced with asphalt ones throughout Britain. The amount of investment has not yet been announced, but it is obvious that this grand project will cost the budget a significant "pretty penny".
Meanwhile, in Ukraine, we remind, they plan to build six first toll roads.
