Like its predecessor, the new Toyota GR 86 was created jointly with Subaru, and its twin is the Subaru BRZ. The design of the rear-wheel-drive coupe is familiar – with a long hood, shortened trunk, and slanting headlights. The optics, by the way, are now LED even in the base version.

The Toyota sports car has grown to 4265 mm in length with a wheelbase of 2575 mm. It weighs only 1270 kg, and body rigidity has increased by as much as 50%.

Inside, the trim materials have been improved, and a virtual instrument panel has appeared. The multimedia touchscreen has been increased to 8 inches in diagonal. The base trim of the Toyota GR 86 has been supplemented with a rear-view camera, automatic braking systems, and lane departure warning.

Under the hood is a new 2.4-liter naturally aspirated flat-four. It develops 235 hp at 7000 rpm and has a torque of 250 N∙m at 3700 rpm. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 6.3 seconds. You can still choose between a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.
