Dacia Hipster Concept is a fresh experimental electric car from the Romanian brand, which belongs to the Renault Group. In Ukraine, this brand is represented under the name Renault. The manufacturer is already known for releasing one of the most budget-friendly electric cars in Europe — the Dacia Spring.
The Hipster concept stands out for its conciseness and careful thoughtfulness. Its dimensions: length — 3 meters, height — 1.53 m, width — 1.55 m. For reference: it is almost 63 cm shorter than the Fiat 500e and 13 cm narrower.
Despite its modest size, the Hipster can accommodate four adult passengers thanks to thoughtful planning and the rejection of everything superfluous. The wheels are pushed as far as possible to the edges of the body, which expands the interior space and gives the car handling close to that of a go-kart.
The exterior is extremely simple: one body color and only three painted elements. The rear lights are mounted directly behind the glass of the tailgate, without a separate lamp housing, and the usual handles are replaced with textile loops.

Inside, there are ultra-thin seats with mesh upholstery. There is no multimedia display or factory speakers here: the manufacturer recommends using a smartphone and a Bluetooth speaker. The trunk holds 68 liters, and with the rear row folded, it grows to 500 liters.
A special detail is the rear seat headrests, which extend from the roof pillars, allowing the seats to fold into a perfectly flat surface. There are also Isofix mounts for child seats.
The minimalist approach made the car 20% lighter than the Dacia Spring — meaning it weighs less than 984 kg. This means not only less energy consumption while driving, but also lower resource costs for production — it turns out cheaper and more environmentally friendly.
The company does not announce the range of the Hipster Concept, but provides indicative statistics: 94% of French drivers travel less than 40 km daily. So you should not count on a large range — it is not the main thing here.
The Hipster Concept is a precursor to a production model. Even if the final version differs in appearance, the direction is obvious: Dacia (in Ukraine — Renault) wants to make electric cars as affordable as possible.
The first step was the Spring, and the next one is already on the way: next year, the premiere of the second generation on the platform of the electric Renault Twingo EV is planned.
