The first examples of the updated Tesla began reaching customers only on June 10, and for now only the most powerful modification is coming off the assembly line — the 1020-horsepower Tesla Model S Plaid. The Long Range version will appear later, with production starting only in the fall. Therefore, the blogger indeed turned out to be among the first to try the new product in action. To test how the car with a yoke steering wheel handles sharp turns and U-turns, he went to a densely built-up area.

What did the first tests show? As expected, getting used to the yoke proved difficult. When needing to re-grip the wheel during rotation, the video author often missed the rim. However, this solution also had its advantages: thanks to the absence of the upper part of the steering wheel (it is simply cut off), the driver's view of the instrument panel is unobstructed. On regular steering wheels, part of the rim often covers part of the screen with gauges.
In addition, the blogger shared impressions of another feature of the electric car — controlling the gearbox via a slider on the central display of the multimedia system. The traditional lever or transmission selector is completely absent in the 2022 Tesla Model S. Here, the tester had no difficulties.
It is worth recalling that the Tesla Model S Plaid has three electric motors and accelerates to 96 km/h in 1.99 seconds. Thanks to this, the liftback is currently considered the fastest production car in the world, as clearly shown in the video.
The range is 628 kilometers. The starting price of the Tesla Model S Plaid on the American market is almost 130 thousand dollars.
