The new Tata Safari was developed with the participation of Land Rover engineers — let us remind you that the British brand is part of the Indian concern. The car is based on the OMEGA Arc platform, which is a simplified version of the architecture on which the Land Rover Discovery Sport is built.

Externally, the new model echoes the more compact Tata Harrier crossover, which uses the same platform. The main common features are two-tier LED optics and pronounced wheel arches.

The dimensions of the crossover are 4661 mm in length, 1894 mm in width, and 1786 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2741 mm. The engine lineup includes versions with six and seven seats.

In the maximum configuration, the Tata Safari will receive a panoramic roof, dual-zone climate control, and an electric driver's seat. The options list also includes 360-degree surround-view cameras and adaptive cruise control.

Under the hood is a two-liter turbodiesel with 170 horsepower, produced under a Fiat license. It is paired with six-speed manual and automatic transmissions.

Drive is only front-wheel, a solution that reduced the cost of the car. In return, buyers will be offered a Terrain Response system with settings for various types of surfaces.
