Toyota has modernized the Gazoo Racing style of its C-HR crossover, offering a more sporty look, suspension refinement, and sharper dynamic characteristics.

The new C-HR GR Sport model was developed with the participation of Toyota's Le Mans - and WRC-winning Performance division, which plays a significant role in expanding the Japanese brand's model lineup, helping to create the Supra and Yaris.

The C-HR GR Sport differs from the standard car with black trim on the headlights, fog light housings, and the central part of the bumper. The Toyota badge background also received black details, as did the front grille.

The more sporty exterior of the GR Sport is emphasized by the addition of a more aggressive front spoiler and black door moldings, while the rear gets black reflector trim and a new decorative panel under the bumper.

The C-HR GR Sport is equipped with new two-tone 19-inch alloy wheels inspired by performance, and has received suspension changes that are claimed to "improve body roll and pitch control."

The front and rear springs have been strengthened by 10% and 15% respectively, and the shock absorbers have been tuned to increase damping force.

Buyers can choose from eight new paint colors to complement the black details, including an exclusive gray and black combination. Inside, the C-HR GR Sport features a red and gray color scheme, with the steering wheel and gear lever trimmed in perforated leather with red stitching.

Rear privacy glass, LED headlights, and heated front seats are included in the base specification.

The C-HR GR Sport will be available with the same 1.8-liter and 2.0-liter petrol-electric hybrid powertrains as the standard car.

More detailed information on pricing and additional features will be published closer to the model's launch in early 2021.
