Pre-production prototypes of the SUV were tested on various types of surfaces, from smooth highways to challenging off-road sections, including high-altitude conditions up to 4,000 meters.

The tests took place in different parts of the world, including the northern regions of Sweden and the American Death Valley. Temperature conditions ranged from 40 degrees below zero to 50 degrees of heat. The company stated that the new Defender will become the most capable off-road vehicle in the brand's history.

Land Rover is testing Defenders in two body styles: five-door (index 110) and three-door (index 90). In the future, the appearance of an extended version with index 130, as well as a pickup modification, is not ruled out.

The premiere of the new Land Rover Defender is scheduled for next year, and production of serial cars will begin in early 2020.
