It was behind the wheel of this car that the famous Brazilian Ayrton Senna first became the Formula 1 champion in 1988.
This example of the P1 GTR (chassis No. 12) — one of 58 produced — was made to special order for an anonymous collector who is a great admirer of Senna's talent. The hypercar was given a racing livery styled after the design of McLaren's title sponsor of those years, Marlboro.

The car was named Beco — that was what Ayrton was called in childhood. A special aerodynamic body kit was created for the hypercar, which increased downforce from 600 to 800 kg. The heat shield of the engine compartment was covered with 24-karat gold. In the cabin, instead of the standard seats, ultra-light carbon fiber bucket seats taken from the McLaren Senna model were installed.
In the technical part, the hypercar remained unchanged. Under the hood of the McLaren P1 GTR Beco is a hybrid setup: a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 gasoline engine plus an electric motor. Total power is 1000 hp. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 2.5 seconds, and the top speed exceeds 360 km/h.
