Pesto sauce, originally from the Italian province of Liguria, is definitely in the top five in this series. In its 'homeland', it is added to almost all dishes – this sauce is used to dress salads (for example, classic Caprese), add to pasta, serve with fish, and even put in soups. Some of these dishes can now be tried at Pasta Mia restaurants at OKKO gas stations, where the festival of regional Italian cuisine 'Tastes of Liguria' started at the beginning of June.

The first pesto recipe was published in 1863 in the Cookbook of Genoa – the capital of the Liguria region. Today, there are more than 1000 different recipes for this sauce, but there are constant components that make pesto an absolute champion in freshness of taste and aroma – this is a combination of green basil, Parmesan cheese, pine nuts, and olive oil. During the 'Tastes of Liguria' festival at Pasta Mia, guests are offered a salad with vegetables and pesto, pasta with chicken and pesto, and 'Pesto and Tomato' pizza.

And an excellent addition to them will be another typical Ligurian dish – the famous tomato cream soup.

'If you have stopped by the Pasta Mia restaurant with a large company, the ideal option would be the aromatic and hearty 'Grande' pizza. Juicy, straight from the oven, with champignons, chicken fillet, and ham, decorated with fresh arugula and radicchio salads combined with red bell pepper, olives, and delicate cheese – such a pizza will leave no one indifferent,' comments Andriy Yanchuk, director of the restaurant chain at OKKO gas stations. 'The diameter of the new 'Grande' is 50 centimeters, and the weight is 1 kilogram, so no one will leave hungry from the tasty stop.'

And, of course, no Ligurian can imagine their day without one or even several cups of coffee. Therefore, espresso, cappuccino, latte, or other types of favorite coffee at OKKO, brewed from 100% Arabica, will become an integral element of the new festival of tastes at Pasta Mia restaurants.
