A diesel in the Wrangler might seem exotic only to Americans, but this powertrain will be completely new. It is too early to talk about the technical characteristics of the next-generation Jeep Wrangler, but American engineers are actively fighting the "excess weight" and "appetite" of the new model.
Even reliable and unpretentious solid axles had to be sacrificed in this fight. However, the manufacturer promises that this will not worsen the model's famous off-road capabilities.
In addition, new engines and transmissions will appear, and Americans will also get the long-awaited Wrangler with a diesel engine. Externally, the popular Jeep will remain recognizable, retaining removable doors and several soft top options. However, the spare wheel will disappear from the rear tailgate.

The company has also developed a soft top that folds with an electric drive. But whether such a device will catch on in a production car is not yet known. However, the existing roof options with removable hard panels and a manually retractable soft top will remain.
