So, to launch the Tata Nexon into serial production, the company only needs its own desire and consumer demand for this model. The final decision will obviously be made after sales of the Bolt hatchback and Zest sedan start this spring — based on their results, it will become clear whether it is worth developing this direction.

The concept shown in Delhi is powered by a 1.2-liter gasoline turbo engine producing 110 horsepower. For comparison, the Bolt and Zest also offer a 1.3-liter diesel unit with 90 hp.

So far, for these models, Tata offers only one transmission — a five-speed manual. However, the crossover may well get a hybrid powertrain with rear-axle drive. In that case, an all-wheel-drive version of the Nexon would appear: the front wheels would be driven by a conventional internal combustion engine, and the rear wheels by an electric motor.
