Volkswagen ID.2 is currently in the final stage of road testing. According to available data, the public debut of the production car will most likely take place no later than the end of this year.

The test prototype is hidden with film at the front and rear, but even under it, recognizable contours are visible: the outlines of the ID.2all show car with compact proportions, a clearly defined side profile, and hidden rear door handles. The overall proportions hint at a design close to the Volkswagen Golf.

The ID.2 is set to become the electric successor to the Polo. It is a B-segment car with a body approximately 4 meters long. The starting price, according to preliminary estimates, will be around 25,000 euros, so the model aims to be one of the most affordable in the brand's electric lineup.

To reduce production costs, the new MEB.Entry architecture will be used. The ID.2 is expected to be equipped with a 226 hp electric motor with front-wheel drive. The battery, made using LFP technology (lithium iron phosphate), will allow a range of up to 450 km on a single charge.
