In May, car imports from China increased significantly: 1,335 new cars were brought in, which is 92% more than before. Used cars turned out to be significantly fewer — 245 units, but even here a slight increase of 5% was recorded.

It is noteworthy that the vast majority of imported cars are electric. Their share amounted to 85% of the total number. This indicates that Ukrainian drivers are increasingly choosing quiet and eco-friendly transport.

The top new models look like this:

  • VW ID.UNYX – 254 cars

  • BYD Song Plus – 216

  • Honda eNS1 – 188

  • BYD Sea Lion 07 – 61

  • Zeekr 7X – 55

Among used cars, the highest demand was for:

  • Zeekr 001 – 26 cars

  • Buick Envision – 19

  • VW ID.UNYX – 18

  • Audi Q4 e-tron – 17

  • MG ZS – 15

It is worth mentioning that in the first quarter of 2025, Ukrainians purchased 2,641 Chinese passenger cars, although the market then shrank by 36% compared to the same period last year. However, May data shows that interest in Chinese cars is not fading, but on the contrary, is gaining momentum.
