The video of an unusual test was published on his Twitter by Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe. In the footage, which lasts only a few seconds, you can see that the car easily handled the water obstacle. In some places, the water reached almost to the hood line and the edge of the wheel arches, but this was not an obstacle. The car is hermetically sealed against moisture, and a water hammer, apparently, is not a problem for it.

It should be noted that the Rivian R1T is built on a proprietary skateboard platform, which has a flat design and includes electric motors, traction battery packs, controllers, and suspension. The car will be offered in a single two-row four-door five-seat cab, but it has several technical specifications. In the top version, the Rivian R1T can boast 765 hp, a torque of 1120 Nm, acceleration to 100 km/h in 3 seconds, and a range of 643 km.
The pickup is expected to go into production in the coming weeks, with a starting price (in the US) of $67,500. Meanwhile, the Cybertruck will appear at best in 2022.
