As expected, the Renault Duster will disappear from the model range in 2024. Instead, the French will have a new crossover, the brand's head Luca de Meo told the media. The new model will be built on the basis of the Dacia Bigster concept (pictured below), which debuted in January this year.

It is worth noting that this news is quite unexpected. Previously, it was believed that Renault would indeed release a new SUV based on Bigster, but it was assumed that it would complement the Renault lineup and become a kind of older brother to the Duster, rather than replace the popular off-roader.

As for the Bigster model, it is expected to be larger than the Duster: the car will move to the C-segment, although in spirit and characteristics it will still be similar to the Franco-Romanian bestseller. Key features of the upcoming crossover should include an additional, third row of seats, as well as hybrid powertrains in the engine range.
By the way, such changes in Renault's assets are due to the fact that the brand intends to focus on the production of electric cars, so it does not want to stretch the line of fuel vehicles.
