He borrowed the sedan and an entirely new rear-wheel-drive platform with a longitudinally mounted engine, thanks to which the car turned out to be about 110 kg lighter than its predecessor. As for the exterior, the new G80 has a massive radiator grille of a characteristic shape similar to the GV80, as well as optics with signature "double lines" at the front and rear.

Inside, there is a three-dimensional digital instrument panel with a diagonal of 12.3 inches, a head-up display, as well as a 14.5-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto interfaces. Natural wood, aluminum, and leather are used in the interior trim.

The equipment includes an automatic braking system, blind spot monitoring, as well as the Highway Driving Assist II function, which allows automatic lane changes by pressing the turn signal. In addition, adaptive cruise control with machine learning is available, which remembers the driver's habits and adapts to their driving style.

The engine lineup includes a two-liter turbocharged four-cylinder producing 304 hp and 421 Nm of torque, as well as a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 developing 380 horsepower and 530 newton-meters. In Europe, a 2.2-liter diesel with 210 horsepower (441 newton-meters) will also be offered. The engines work with an eight-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches.

In South Korea, sales of the sedan will start on Monday, March 30, and it will reach other markets in the second half of 2020.
