Some classic automatic transmissions are noted for their exceptional durability and can outlast the engine itself. Experts have named several automatic transmission models from various brands that, with timely maintenance, can cover over 300,000 kilometers without major repairs. This is reported in the material of the YouTube channel "Yura Haryachyi", dedicated to the analysis of cars and their components.

1. ZF 6HP

The six-speed ZF 6HP unit is still considered a benchmark of reliability among automatic transmissions. This transmission was produced in versions 6HP 21, 28, and 32, and was used in BMW, Maserati, Jaguar, and Bentley models. Thanks to a successful combination of shift speed and durability, the gearbox can last over 300,000 kilometers. It does not suffer from typical ailments related to software or overheating.

2. Aisin TF-80SC

Aisin TF-80SC was used in Volvo, Peugeot, Citroën, Renault, and Ford cars from 2003 to 2011. This six-speed automatic, with timely maintenance, withstands over 300,000 kilometers of mileage. The only weak point in some models was inefficient cooling due to an oversized or poorly positioned radiator. Owners solved this problem by installing additional radiators.

3. Aisin TB-60SN

Aisin TB-60SN was developed specifically for Toyota and Lexus with powerful V8 engines to handle high torque. Many car owners have operated this six-speed gearbox for over 300,000 kilometers without any failures. The main condition for this is regular replacement of transmission fluid every 60,000 kilometers.

4. Hyundai A6MF1

Hyundai A6MF1 was created by engineers from Korea and has been installed in cars since 2009. The gearbox has several variants designed for engines ranging from 1.6 to 3.8 liters. It has proven its reliability on gasoline engines with moderate torque (1.6, 2.0, and 2.4 liters), providing a lifespan of over 300,000 kilometers.

5. 4-speed Mitsubishi automatic

The four-speed Mitsubishi gearbox is recognized as one of the most durable, despite being technically outdated. This transmission was installed on the ninth-generation Mitsubishi Galant, as well as on the first generations of Outlander and Grandis. Its key advantage is high resistance to aggressive driving and even to skipping scheduled oil changes. There were cases where the engine failed, but the gearbox continued to function. The downside is low fuel efficiency due to only four gears.
