Such cars are equipped with a Jatco CVT with a steel belt and a two-stage planetary gearbox, which expands the available range of gear ratios.
Technically, the CVT Lada Vesta replicates the Lada Xray Cross hatchback with a similar transmission. The JF015E gearbox, also known as X-Tronic, works in tandem with the 1.6-liter naturally aspirated HR16DE engine from the Renault-Nissan alliance, which produces 113 horsepower and 152 Nm of torque. For the Vesta, the engine was recalibrated, and the exhaust, drive shafts, and mounts were replaced. The weight and ground clearance remain unchanged: still 178 millimeters for base versions and 203 millimeters for Cross modifications.

The new gearbox will be available for both the base sedan and station wagon, as well as their off-road versions. According to the manufacturer, the CVT is not afraid of wheelspin and heavy loads. Along with the release of the new modification, Lada expanded its body color palette, adding a new blue shade called "Diving," but has not yet disclosed pricing and trim levels for the CVT Vesta models. This will be announced later.
AvtoVAZ reports that the Lada Vesta with CVT has undergone a full testing cycle. A total of 39 vehicles participated, with a combined road mileage of one million kilometers for the prototypes. There were both laboratory and climatic tests: cars drove in Surgut at minus 47 degrees Celsius and in Taman at +40.
