The car was modified by its owner. This is not an old Soviet VAZ-2121, but a modern Lada Niva Legend. Officially, the Russian SUV is not supplied to the EU due to its engine not meeting emission standards, but the car is eagerly imported by "gray" dealers because it is in high demand.

Niva with BMW internals

The Niva's mileage is 14,000 km. Instead of the original 1.7-liter naturally aspirated engine with 83 hp, it has a BMW turbo engine with 122 hp, and instead of the 5-speed manual transmission, a Bavarian "automatic". In addition, all-wheel drive was replaced with rear-wheel drive.

One of the technical features of the conversion is that at a speed of 110 km/h, the engine revs not 4,500 rpm as before, but only 2,000. This was achieved by changing the gear ratios.

Among other "features" of the tuned Niva are increased ground clearance by 5 cm, a sport exhaust with two pipes, LED lighting (headlights and taillights), push-button engine start, a different steering wheel, and quilted floor mats.

It is worth noting that for about the same money in Britain, you can buy a regular Niva with no mileage.
