Actually, the production of electric Nivas in Germany involves converting regular gasoline SUVs supplied from Russia. In the EU, by the way, classic three-door Lada Niva models are not officially sold, as their engines do not meet emission standards. However, such cars are readily supplied by "gray" dealers – they are in high demand, especially in Western European countries.

For the Niva, Schmid GmbH has prepared an electric drive of its own design, called Elantrie. The kit includes an 88-horsepower electric motor and a lithium iron phosphate battery with a capacity of 30 kWh. The creators claim that, depending on operating conditions, the electric Niva can travel from 130 to 300 km. It also has a built-in 220-volt outlet that can power household appliances up to 2 kW. If you power your home with electricity for a day, the battery will still have enough reserve to travel 70-90 km.

The battery of the electric Lada Niva is rated for 9000 charge-discharge cycles. This means (in theory) that after 25 years of use, the residual capacity will be around 80%.
