The new model features an inline three-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine producing 340 hp. The BMW Z4 M40i First Edition accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds. The roadster also comes with a sport suspension with electronically controlled dampers, M Sport braking system, and an M Sport differential with electronic locking on the rear axle.

The production car is generally similar to the concept car of the same name presented last summer. The vehicle features 19-inch alloy wheels, blue brake calipers, rectangular exhaust tips, LED lighting, and an aggressive body kit.

The BMW Z4 also comes with a completely new fully digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen display for the multimedia system integrated into the center console, and a wireless charging station for mobile devices. Additionally, the car is equipped with a Harman Kardon Surround Sound audio system, sport seats, and an ambient lighting package in the cabin.

The BMW Z4 roadster shares its chassis with the new Toyota sports car, for which the Supra name will be revived. German and Japanese engineers have been jointly developing the platform for the sports car since 2014.

The car will be presented to the general public at the Paris Motor Show in October this year. Official sales of the new model will start in spring 2019. Prices for the model will be announced later.
