Production of the Creta model was launched at a plant in St. Petersburg, with sales of the new model scheduled to start in July 2016.
According to Autonews.ru, the Creta will be offered with two naturally aspirated petrol engines - a 1.6-liter producing 123 hp (as in the Solaris/Accent) and a 2-liter engine (from the i40). Both engines can be paired with 6-speed manual or automatic transmissions.

Among the competitors of the Hyundai Creta are crossovers such as the Renault Kaptur, Ford EcoSport, Suzuki Vitara, Kia Soul, and Peugeot 2008.

As stated by Hyundai, at the initial stage the level of localization of the Creta will be about 30%, and next year it will be increased to 50%. The Russian-assembled crossovers will also be supplied to CIS countries. Whether the Russian-Korean new model will be sold in Ukraine is still unknown.
