Demand for the Model 3 sedan exceeded 950 thousand units, and the Model Y – just over 100 thousand. The first model appeared on the market back in 2017, and the second – in 2020.
As for the older electric cars Model S and Model X, Tesla sold just over 510 thousand of those.

It is important to note that the Model S is exactly the electric car that brought the California manufacturer the greatest fame (appeared in 2012), but it was with the advent of "budget" models that Tesla was able to turn from a startup into a full-fledged player in the automotive industry.
It is expected that this year Tesla will be able to report 2 million delivered cars. This should be facilitated, in particular, by the release of updated versions of the Model S and Model X, which debuted in January this year. Recall that the most noticeable innovation in these electric cars was the appearance of... a yoke instead of a steering wheel.
And Tesla is also preparing three new products for the market, which Autoportal previously talked about in this note.
