The technology is called Digital Outer Mirrors and is set to debut in October next year on the new ES sedan. Later, such cameras will appear on other models of the brand. Initially, the Digital Outer Mirrors technology will be available only for cars in Japan.

In shape, the cameras resemble regular side mirrors, but are smaller in size. The company promised that the new technology will improve the car's aerodynamic properties, reduce wind noise, and improve the driver's visibility.

A similar technology will be used on the production electric crossover Audi E-Tron, which will be presented on September 17. However, Lexus promised to outpace their German colleagues and be the first to launch sales of a car with the new technology.

As for the European premiere of the new generation ES sedan, it will take place at the Paris Motor Show in October.
