Volkswagen noticed this idea and brought it to life. It all started with a commercial aired in the Netherlands that clearly demonstrated the principle of adaptive cruise control.
Soon, a response from a user appeared under this video on Facebook: "I might seem strange, but isn't a stroller with auto-braking a great idea?". This comment became the starting point for creating an unusual baby stroller equipped with adaptive cruise control technology.
The initial idea about brakes grew into a full-fledged project: the stroller uses not only a deceleration system but also a mechanism for maintaining distance to the object ahead. In other words, it can actually follow the owner, keeping the required interval. To implement this, engineers borrowed the adaptive cruise control sensor from the Golf model.
Everything works quite simply: the system measures the distance to the object the stroller is following and, depending on whether it approaches or moves away, adjusts the speed, accelerating or braking the stroller. And if you add a function to control the swivel wheels, the stroller can move behind you in any direction.
