Moss spent a decade in Formula 1, winning 16 of the 66 races he entered. The Briton finished second in the overall standings four times, but the championship title eluded him. His racing career in "Grand Prix racing" ended after a serious accident in 1962, after which the driver spent a month in a coma.

Until 2010, Stirling Moss continued to compete in amateur-level events. In addition, the famous driver was often invited to television as an expert and commentator, as well as an honorary guest at Grand Prix stages.

In 2000, Stirling Moss was knighted and received the title of Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire.
