The statistics were presented by the first deputy head of the Patrol Police Department, Oleksiy Biloshytskyi, on the occasion of the first year of operation of the automatic recording system. In total, 1.7 million resolutions on violations were issued, and 85% of fines have already been paid. If on the first day the cameras recorded 57 thousand violations, now their number has decreased by 8 times – to about 7 thousand.

In addition, the automatic recording cameras improved the statistics of serious accidents. Compared to last year, 133 fewer people died on the roads, and the number of injured decreased by more than a thousand.

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Anton Gerashchenko reported that 130 cameras have already been installed, and by the end of the year there should be 400. By 2024, they plan to install 1500 cameras.

Also by 2024, 550 phantom patrols will operate on the roads – the first four such undercover cars are currently being tested. In addition, conscious citizens will be able to record traffic violations using a smartphone – the corresponding draft law is already being prepared.
