Of course, in Europe old UAZs are a kind of rarity, although in Italy, for example, they were sold officially. They were sold by dealers, the Martorelli brothers, who often upgraded the SUVs or prepared them for off-road racing.
A very popular modification was replacing the UAZ engine – instead of the petrol four-cylinder, more economical diesels were installed. This is exactly the car being sold in Italy – under its hood is a 2.5-liter diesel four-cylinder Peugeot with 65 hp.
Otherwise, it is the well-known UAZ-469 – 4-speed manual transmission, all-wheel drive, and suspension remain unchanged.
The high price is explained not only by the rarity of the model in Italy but also by its condition. The UAZ-469 recently underwent a full restoration and has since covered only 1500 km.
