There would be nothing special about this story if it weren't about a foreign car. In the Soviet Union, there were very few cars not of local production, and only a few have survived to this day. And one of these cars is definitely this Toyota.

Another interesting detail is that those Japanese cars that ended up in the USSR were right-hand drive, they were brought directly from the Land of the Rising Sun (via Vladivostok, RSFSR, now Russia). In this case, as we see, the Corolla is left-hand drive. That is, it was somehow brought from the USA or Europe. Apparently, it happened in the 80s (as indicated by the license plates of that era – white background, black characters).

All this indicates that this car definitely has a rich history. Moreover, the model itself is historic: it is the legendary third-generation Toyota Corolla, produced in 1974-1979. At the time, it became a real salvation for Americans: at the height of the fuel crisis, US residents could no longer afford "gas-guzzling" domestic cars and began to massively switch to economical "Japanese" cars. On this wave, the Corolla 3 gained huge popularity in the States.

The owner is ready to give the Toyota for 850 dollars. The low price is explained by the condition of the car – as seen in the photo, there are many corrosion spots, dents, scratches on the body, the paintwork is damaged, and the interior is worn and torn in places. But there is also a good point: the car is in running condition. Which, actually, is not surprising for a Toyota.

Under the hood of the car is a 1.2-liter engine, the gearbox is a 2-speed automatic.
