In the US, the shortage of new Toyota RAV4s has driven up prices on the secondary market. Hybrid crossovers of 2024 with a mileage of over 46 thousand km are offered for $46,998, although new they cost $38,735. The reason was high demand amid reduced production during the re-equipment of Toyota plants. About this writes Autoblog.
Used Toyota RAV4 sold more expensive than new crossovers
At CarMax, a 2024 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XSE with a mileage of about 46,700 km was valued at $46,998 - $8,263 more than the original recommended price. A 2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Limited with a mileage of about 9,020 km was offered for $48,590. New, such a car cost more than $6,000 less.

The supply of new hybrid Toyota RAV4s at American dealers is enough for less than five days of sales. At the same time, high gasoline prices have additionally increased demand for economical hybrids.
Toyota RAV4 production decreased due to plant re-equipment

The shortage formed after a reduction in the output of the 2026 model year Toyota RAV4 during the re-equipment of production facilities. Against this background, demand exceeded supply, and some buyers of new cars ended up on waiting lists.
For comparison, in Ukraine, orders are already being accepted for the new, sixth-generation Toyota RAV4. The official price of the front-wheel-drive hybrid starts from 1,836,000 UAH, and the all-wheel-drive one - from 1,978,560 UAH. The most expensive RAV4 GR Sport AWD-i costs from 2,371,680 UAH.
