In 2003, Italian businessman Paolo Provenzi decided to buy a 1996 Ferrari F50. He paid 260 thousand euros for the rare supercar, but within a month the car was stolen from the hotel's underground parking lot.

The Ferrari supercar surfaced only 16 years later – in 2019 it was detained at the border between Canada and the USA. Somehow the stolen car crossed the ocean and ended up in North America.

Naturally, Paolo Provenzi was delighted and wanted to get the Ferrari F50 back as soon as possible. But it was not to be – the current owner of the car, Mohammed Alsaloussi, claims that he legally purchased it in September 2019 for 1.4 million dollars. The collector did not know that the car was stolen and has all the necessary documents on hand. And, of course, he does not want to give up the F50.

Now Paolo Provenzi is suing Mohammed Alsaloussi. The case has attracted the attention of the American prosecutor's office, and it has placed a seizure on the car until the court makes a decision.

It should be noted that the Ferrari F50 is a very rare collectible model. Only 349 such cars were produced. Its 520-horsepower V12 is based on the engine of a Formula-1 car and allows it to reach 325 km/h.
