Gennady Kernes is a controversial figure, and today he is remembered in different ways. We will not touch on his political career, but will focus on his car collection — it truly deserves attention.
Yes, Gennady Kernes had a weakness for premium cars, and his garage contained real rarities. Take, for example, the unique Bentley Brooklands worth half a million euros. Only 550 examples of such coupes with a 6.75-liter V8 engine producing 530 hp were produced worldwide, and only a few are in Ukraine.

Equally unique was the modified Porsche 911 Gemballa GT2 600 EVO. As the name suggests, its turbocharged engine was boosted to 600 hp. The result is a 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 320 km/h. This model is easily recognized by its aerodynamic body kit and massive rear spoiler.

And for his 50th birthday, Gennady Kernes received a retro coupe Wiesmann MF Coupe, valued at 170 thousand euros. The car's exterior is styled in the spirit of the 1950s, and under the hood is a BMW inline-six producing 325 hp. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5 seconds.

In addition, it is worth mentioning the numerous Mercedes G-Class (one of them armored), GLS and S-Class, as well as BMW X6, Cadillac Escalade, Porsche Panamera, several Lexus LX and even a Volkswagen T6 minivan. The total value of the entire fleet is several million dollars. By the way, most of Gennady Kernes's and his relatives' cars had license plates containing the combination 0202.

In the 2019 declaration of the late mayor's son Kirill Kernes, there are Audi A8, Porsche 911, as well as VAZ-2110 and GAZ-M20 Pobeda. His wife drives a Mercedes GLS350. The Pobeda is certainly the oldest car in the Kernes family, but whether it was the first is not known for certain.

The final car of Gennady Kernes was a prestigious hearse based on the Volvo V90 — also a rather rare sight on our roads. Interestingly, the decision to purchase a Volvo for the municipal enterprise "Ritual" was made about six months before that.

According to "Antikor", the tender was won by a company linked to the late mayor's friend and deputy of the Kharkiv regional council, Igor Arikh. The question arises: did the Kharkiv city hall know in advance about the possible turn of events and decide to prepare?
