As is known, our roads do not contribute to the longevity of a car's suspension, and wheel rims especially quickly become unusable. In some cases, they can be repaired with special equipment, but for installation on the front axle, such wheels are generally no longer suitable.

The only reasonable alternative in this case would be to buy new rims. As is known, rims and worn tires are changed in pairs, so you will have to purchase at least two wheels.

A small problem at the initial stage of selection may be the huge variety of different wheel rim shapes. How can you figure out which ones will best suit your car, and which ones will look like a "saddle on a cow"?

Until recently, you could either guess how new rims would look on a car, or you had to carry the intended purchase to the car. Today, you can try on wheels online. The online store "4 tires" offers a visual selection of rims, allowing you to see how the new purchase will look before buying it.

To use this service, simply take a photo of your car from the side, at the level of the door handles, and upload the photo to the website of the "4 tires" store. This will give you the opportunity to virtually try on the available rims specifically for your car.

Having decided on the model and color, you need to remember that the rim dimensions must be observed. First of all, we start from the standard wheel diameter of your car. This is the so-called mounting diameter of the rim, corresponding to the inner diameter of the tire. You can buy rims of a larger diameter than the "standard" ones, equipping them with low-profile tires (the outer diameter of the wheel will remain the same).

When using alloy rims, such a "swap" is quite justified: the weight of the wheel almost does not increase, and it looks much better. However, the diameter is far from all the parameters of the rim.

The next parameter of the rim is its offset, the distance between the plane of symmetry of the rim and the plane of attachment of the rim. Here it is better not to show excessive initiative: carefully read the operating manual of your car and buy alloy rims with the recommended offset.

The parameter that must be observed absolutely precisely when choosing alloy rims is the diameter of the centers of the mounting holes (pitch circle diameter, PCD) and the number of these holes. Alloy rims with a PCD marking different from that specified in the operating manual of your car will be impossible to install.

Pay attention to the bolts with which the alloy rim will be attached to the wheel hub. Too short bolts mean insufficiently reliable wheel fastening; too long ones may catch stationary parts when the wheel rotates.

The last parameter to pay attention to is the width of the rim (mounting width) of the alloy rim (measured in inches). This parameter matters if you are selecting a rim for existing tires. Here accuracy is very important, since when using too narrow or too wide rims, the geometry of the tire's contact patch with the road is disrupted, and accordingly, the tire's driving characteristics.

But do not worry, the sales consultants of the online store "4 tires" will take care of observing all these nuances.
