The first appearance of the Primera took place back in 1990, and for the Japanese and European markets this model became truly iconic. It gained recognition thanks to a successful combination of dynamic qualities, comfort, and reliability. The third generation of the car attracted the most attention, which since 2001 stood out with an unusual design, noticeably different from what previous versions offered. However, already in 2007, Nissan decided to discontinue production of this model. At one time, the Primera could be purchased in three body styles — sedan, liftback, and station wagon, but judging by available information, if revived, the model will be offered exclusively as a sedan.

There is an opinion that the new Primera could become an electric vehicle and compete with models such as the Tesla Model 3, Mazda 6e, and Volkswagen ID.7. In addition, rumors have emerged about a possible collaboration between Nissan and the Chinese company Dongfeng, which may indicate the use of a platform from the electric N7. A similar approach has already been tested by Mazda, which built its electric sedan based on the Deepal SL03.

There is no official confirmation from Nissan yet, although the manufacturer has previously stated plans to release a number of new electric vehicles by 2026.
