As Bugatti reported, the unique car was named Bugatti Divo Lady Bug, that is, "ladybug." The prefix in the name just points to the special body color of the car. Bugatti's signature palette includes several bright colors, but the owner of this particular one wanted a special car for himself.

It took the French company a year and a half just to develop and approve the project. The remaining 12 months were spent on applying the paint and pattern.

For the Lady Bug, a special shade of red (Customer Special Red) was developed, decorated with cells in the form of contrasting diamonds. The number of ornaments is 1,600 pieces, and they were applied by hand. The task was so difficult that Bugatti was even ready to abandon the project after several unsuccessful attempts. But in the end, the painstaking work was crowned with success, and the car ended up in the collection of an American buyer.

Technically, this Bugatti Divo Lady Bug is no different from other hypercars in the series. The French hypercar is equipped with an 8.0-liter W16 with 4 turbochargers and develops 1,500 hp. The price of the Bugatti Divo starts at 5 million euros, but this example probably cost the owner more.

Production of the car started in the summer of 2018. In total, Bugatti intends to produce 40 examples of the Divo.
