Mazda has officially announced the arrival of the subcompact crossover CX-30, which will receive a more powerful turbocharged engine. The 2021 CX-30 Turbo is equipped with the same 2.5-liter turbocharged unit as other vehicles from the Japanese brand. The engine delivers up to 250 horsepower.

In its class, the new CX-30 has no direct rivals. The closest analogue — the KIA Soul — has only 201 hp. Standard equipment for the CX-30 Turbo includes all-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission. Compared to the non-turbo version, the model is distinguished by black 18-inch wheels, black side mirror housings, enlarged exhaust tips, and a "Turbo" badge on the rear.

The regular 2021 CX-30 without turbocharging uses a 2.5-liter engine producing 186 horsepower. Acceleration to 100 km/h for this version takes 8.1 seconds. The price of the new car has not yet been announced. However, based on prices for previous modifications, it can be assumed that the entry-level turbocharged trim will cost around $30,000.
