As Automotive News reports, the premiere of the new Jeep Grand Cherokee was planned to coincide with the June motor show in Detroit, but the event was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic in the United States. Therefore, the unveiling of the next generation of the SUV has been postponed to September, which will also affect the timing of the start of sales. The Detroit show was also expected to debut the new body-on-frame Grand Wagoneer SUV, but there is no information yet about its further fate.
In addition, the FCA concern had to stop operations at its plants in the United States and Mexico. Production is expected to resume at American factories no earlier than mid-May, while Mexican lines will be launched in the coming days. Canadian sites will return to work on May 4.
