The new BMW M8, built on the upgraded base of the M850i variant, received a powertrain from the "charged" M5 sedan. The car's chassis was tuned and tested at the Nürburgring for 24 months.

The BMW M8 is equipped with a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which in the standard version produces 600 hp and 750 newton-meters. In the case of the Competition version, the engine's output is increased to 625 horsepower. The coupe can accelerate to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, while the convertible does it in 3.4 seconds. The Competition variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds.

The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h, but with the optional M Driver's Package, the limiter is moved to 305 km/h. Thus, the new M8 has become the most powerful and fastest production two-door model in the history of the Bavarian brand.

All cars of the M8 family are equipped with all-wheel drive and an active M differential. The driver can choose between the standard 4WD driving mode and the sporty 4WD Sport. In addition, you can disable the dynamic stability system and activate 2WD mode with torque transmitted exclusively to the rear wheels.

The BMW M8 received a modernized adaptive suspension, six-piston brake mechanisms (carbon-ceramic discs are available as an option), 20-inch wheels, and sports seats. For an additional fee, aerodynamic elements made of composite materials are also available.

European sales of the new generation BMW M8 will start in autumn.
